"It's Our Earth" Benefit Days for SCARCE |

|  It's Our Earth in downtown Wheaton will be holding two days of fundraising to benefit SCARCE. The dates are Saturday, May 2nd and Saturday, June 13th. It's Our Earth will donate 10% of its proceeds from t hose days to help support SCARCEand its work! So, stop by and visit this earth-friendly store.

| June 8 - 12 The Village of Bartlett will be collecting old bicycles, which will be donated to The Recyclery of Evanston, a non-profit organization that collects used bicycles & donates them to those in need around the Chicagoland area. Bring bikes to the village hall.

| Ride Your Bike to Work - You'll reduce your carbon footprint, help your wallet and get in your cardio for the day all at the same time! Bike to Work Week is a national event taking place at different times in different cities to show our commitment to reducing emissions from our cars. So, ride your bike to work, to the train or to your carpool location and enjoy the benefits of being eco-friendly. PLUS, the added benefit of knowing that you are helping the environment - every little bit makes a difference!
Businesses and companies can make this a workplace event! Log onto Bike to Work Week to register your event. For other events along the way, log onto Bike Chicago or Active Transportation.

 For the months of April, May & June, if you bring your own bags to the Whole Foods stores in Wheaton and Naperville, they will donate the "Bring Your Own Bag" incentive to SCARCE. Naperville will donate 10 cents per bag & Wheaton will donate 20 cents per bag! Help the environment and SCARCE at the same time.

| NEW PROGRAM! RxBox - Disposing Meds Safely Drop Offs in 7 Locations
The DuPage County Health Department, DuPage County and the Illinois EPA are sponsoring a new program called RxBox - Disposing Meds Safely.
Specially marked boxes are LOCATED at the POLICE STATIONS in the following towns:
- Addison Police Station
- Bloomingdale Police Station
- Burr Ridge Police Station
- Carol Stream Police Station
- DuPage Co Sheriff - Wheaton
- Glendale Heights Police Station
- Lemont Police Station
- Lisle Police Station
- Schaumburg Police Station
- Wheaton Police Station
- Wood Dale Police Station
- PLUS, the permanent HHW site at Fire Station #4 in Naperville (Sat & Sun 9am-2pm)
To drop off medications, just empty the pills into a resealable plastic bag (like ziploc bags) - do not include pill bottles. If the medication is liquid, please scratch or block out your information from the label and put the bottle in a resealable plastic bag. For more details or questions, call the POLICE STATIONS in the listed towns.
