Where to Recycle Stuff

RECYCLING EVENTS AND EXTRAVAGANZAS

recyclingsign Sometimes it’s hard to figure out how to get rid of old stuff. Many communities host events to reuse or recycle those old items.
Here's how it works:
- Pack up your car, and drive to the location.
- As you drive thru the parking lot, volunteers help you unload your unwanted items at different stations.
- The items are donated to charity, if possible, or properly recycled, otherwise.
Ongoing and upcoming events are listed below, or in the flyers to the right. Usually these events are in the spring and fall. Unless otherwise noted, all events should be open to the public.

FREE E-RECYCLING PROGRAMS END 12/31/09

The following Electronics Recycling Events are sponsored by DuPage County and will be ending this year.

  • Hanover Park: Monday through Friday 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Public Works Facility, 2121 W. Lake St., Hanover Park. Call to verify the last date this year 630-372-4200

  • Glendale Heights: at Public Works Facility, 1635 Glen Ellyn Rd., Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm. Call to verify last date this year 630-462-7418.

  • Only for Kane County residents: 2nd Saturday of each month, Kane County Books & Electronics Recycling, Click for Kane County Recycling Details
