collection event, composting)

The event will take place on the 2nd floor in the Ohrman Room at 10:00 a.m.
Plus, bring any dictionaries or thesauruses that you no longer want, and SCARCE will get them into the hands of needy families.

Do you have extra Latex Paint around your house?
or Do you need Latex Paint?
We have a great solution for either one!
The DuPage County Environmental Committee has set up FREE Latex Paint Recycling.
If you have usable unwanted latex paint that has never been frozen nor mixed with other products and is less than 10 years, it can be recycled and reused by those who need it. Paint can be dropped off at the site listed below (check times & days) and know that it will be put to good use. The paint is filtered and re-blended to be used again.
If you NEED paint,
you can pick it up for FREE if you are a resident, business, school or
community group. The paint comes from the filtered, re-blended paint
that has been dropped off and is available in 5 Gallon buckets. Call first to find out availability.

 The Water Systems Council and The Groundwater Foundation have partnered together to promote groundwater protection and education. The new "wellcare Well Owners Network" is a new resource designed for well owners to give them easy access to information that is critical to maintaining a safe supply of drinking water for you and your family.
Membership is FREE and offers e-newsletters, discounted well water test kits, testing reminders, and more.

Active Transportation Alliance News

Are you trying to reduce your Carbon Footprint and save energy by riding your bike. Here's an organization especially for you, the Active Transportation Alliance.(formerly the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation.) It has a monthly newsletter called "Traffic Signals" which provides news to interested parties about biking, construction, open & closed routes, etc.
Ride the City is a new site which maps the safest bike riding route through a city that you name. Log on to check it out, www.ridethecity.org.
