SCARCE STAFF MOTIVATED FOR 2010It's easy for us on the SCARCE team to continue doing what we do. Why? Our motivation comes every day in the lovely notes of thanks we receive. The SCARCE Team is always deeply touched when reading these kind words in return for our environmental education programs and the SCARCE Rescue Programs. We wanted to share a few from the last quarter in 2009 (links to the right). What a great way for us to end the year! Our many thanks to everyone who makes a difference at SCARCE - whether you volunteer 1 hour or donate $1 or send us some late-breaking eco-news. We're grateful to the people who support us each and every day!
Great Use of SCARCE Resources!The following examples are from a Special Education Cooperative in the area. These teachers utilized the SCARCE Tools For Schools Program. All of the students at this school have special needs with multiple disabilities and many have autism. Their students use the TEACCH Program) Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-Handicapped Children). The TEACCH Program allows students to make connections between concepts, discern the relationship between parts, learn how all the information is connected to form a whole and promote independence.
The teachers from this center developed very creative lesson plans with materials they have gathered from SCARCE. Our team was so deeply touched with their letter, and we wanted to share their excellent examples to inspire you with your special needs children. We thank the teachers of this cooperative for sending such thoughtful examples of their lesson plans. We’re so thankful for the meaningful work that you are doing at your school!
